Contemporary craft centers process, materiality, labor, and community, yet it has often lacked inclusion in fine art spaces. This friction arises from a historically drawn line between the value of “craft” and “art”. We propose a squares-and-rectangles approach; maybe they fit within and around each other! We look towards craftspeople such as renowned woodworker James Krenov, who looks for traces of the maker’s voice. He described it as: “The understanding eye sees the maker’s fingerprints. They are evident in every detail... Leave Fingerprints.”

The opening reception was held at Cloth Collaborative on Sunday, March 29th, 2026.

The jury was composed of five artists that were selected for their specialization in different craft mediums. 
Soph Paris and I worked together to bring this show to life! We handled every aspect of the logistics and conceptual ideation.

  • Managing 70+ submissions
  • Appointing and leading a jury
  • Receiving and keeping inventory of work

  • Planning and executing the opening reception
  • Deinstallation
